Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the PortPocket mobile application (the "Application"), created by Christopher De Jong (the "Service Provider"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Application processes, where data is stored, and your choices regarding your information.

1. Overview

The Application is designed so that the content you create and use in the app, such as job entries, notes, and related details, is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, certain app data may also be stored in your personal iCloud account through Apple CloudKit.

The Service Provider does not operate a separate backend database for storing your personal app content and does not sell your personal information.

2. Information Processed by the Application

Data Stored on Your Device

The Application stores information you enter directly on your device in order to provide core functionality. This may include job entries, work-related details, notes, preferences, images you associate with entries, and other content you choose to save in the app.

Optional iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud syncing, your app data may also be stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit so that your data can sync across your Apple devices.

The Service Provider does not use a separately operated server to store this synced content. Access to data stored in your personal iCloud account is governed by Apple's systems and your Apple account settings.

Location Data

The Application may access your device location if you choose to use mapping, navigation, or proximity-based features. Location data is used to support features such as terminal maps, navigation assistance, and distance-based information.

The Service Provider does not store your location history on separately operated servers. However, if Apple mapping services are used within the Application, Apple may process certain location-related requests in accordance with Apple's privacy practices.

Camera and Photos

The Application may request access to your camera or photo library so you can capture, import, and manage job ticket images or other app-related photos.

Photos and images you choose to use in the Application are stored on your device and may also be included in your personal iCloud account if syncing or Apple photo services are enabled on your device. The Service Provider does not upload these images to a separately operated server.

Motion and Compass Data

The Application may access motion and compass information to improve map orientation, directional features, and related navigation functions. This information is used on-device for app functionality.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, the Application may use Apple notification services to deliver alerts to your device. Notifications may include reminders, updates, or other app-related messages.

The Service Provider does not use notifications to collect or sell your personal information. Apple may process technical information required to deliver notifications in accordance with its own systems and policies.

Subscription Information

The Application may offer premium subscriptions or paid features through Apple's App Store. Subscription purchases, billing, and payment processing are handled by Apple.

The Service Provider may receive limited subscription-related information from Apple, such as whether a subscription or entitlement is active, in order to enable premium features. The Service Provider does not receive or store your full payment card or banking information.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application may rely on Apple services to operate certain features, including:

These services are provided by Apple and are subject to Apple's own terms, policies, and privacy practices.

4. Data Sharing

The Service Provider does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

The Service Provider may disclose limited information only in the following circumstances:

5. Tracking and Advertising

The Application is not designed to track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising purposes.

The Application does not sell your personal data and is not intended to use third-party advertising tracking technologies to profile you across services.

6. Data Retention

Data you create in the Application is generally retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Application.

If you enable iCloud sync, synced data may also remain in your personal iCloud account until you delete it from the Application, your device, or your iCloud account, as applicable.

Subscription-related entitlement information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide premium features, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

7. Your Choices and Controls

You can control many privacy-related features directly through your device and app settings. For example, you may:

Because most app content is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you may also need to use your Apple device settings or iCloud tools to manage or delete certain synced data.

8. Children's Privacy

The Application is not directed to children under the age of 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to the Service Provider through a support request or other direct communication channel, please contact the Service Provider so that appropriate steps can be taken.

9. Security

The Service Provider uses reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the Application to help protect information processed by the Application.

App content is primarily stored on your device and, if enabled by you, in your personal iCloud account through Apple's services. Access to device features is also controlled through your operating system permissions and Apple account protections.

However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, or device security is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

10. California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with applicable privacy rights, you may have rights under state law regarding personal information, subject to applicable exceptions and limitations.

Because the Application is designed so that most user content is stored on your device or in your personal iCloud account rather than on a separately operated backend controlled by the Service Provider, some requests may be best fulfilled by using the Application's delete features, your device settings, or your iCloud account tools.

If you have a privacy-related request or question, you may contact the Service Provider using the contact information below.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating this page and revising the effective date above.

Your continued use of the Application after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy.
